Meet Dawn, a Partwo Muse

At Partwo, our greatest inspiration comes from the people around us—our friends, our community, and those who bring our vision to life. That’s why we created Partwo Muses, a blog dedicated to the individuals who inspire us daily. From those who join us on-set to model our pieces, to the friends and family whose style and spirit shape our world, this space is our way of celebrating them—and letting you get to know them too.

Meet Dawn Mellon-

Describe your lifestyle - what's your gig, do you have family or fur babies?

I'm a recently retired personal stylist.  Known as Dawn The Savvy Stylist, I had a wonderful 20-year career styling clients from many different professions ranging from athletes and C-suite executives to entrepreneurs and doctors.  I was a columnist for La Mode magazineD Moms magazine and several other news outlets.  And I've dabbled in residential interior decorating and completed two large commercial projects - Dee Lincoln Prime Steakhouse and Havana Dees.

My husband and I have two grown children (one of whom is married) and are the proud parents of a sweet boxer, Torii.  Our empty nester lifestyle has given us an opportunity to enjoy our favorite activity - traveling!

How do you express yourself creatively?

I'm currently writing a novel based upon the famous Swiss Psychologist and Psychiatrist Carl Jung who said, "The hardest burden a child must bear is the unlived life of a parent."

What's your sign?

Cancer

Partwo is a play of the French word "Partou" meaning "every wear".  Where have you enjoyed wearing your Partwo piece(es)?

Because each piece is so versatile, I've enjoyed wearing my pieces on dinner dates, to girl's lunches, and while traveling.  I recently wore my favorite piece on a trip to Santa Fe and received quite a few compliments.  I guess it stands to reason that women in Santa Fe - The City of Different - would appreciate fashion that is different and unique.

How do you integrate Partwo into your wardrobe, and what about our sustainable pieces speaks most to your style or personality?

The sustainability aspect of Partwo shirts speaks to my love of vintage clothing.  I'm intrigued by vintage pieces not because they come from the past, but because they come with a past - or a story that makes each piece completely unique.  While Partwo pieces aren't vintage, they are unique and they do come with a story - two, in fact.  They begin as mens' shirts that are then fashioned into womens' shirts giving each of them an original story and a second story...and who knows how many more stories these garments will tell in their lifetime.

Which piece from the Partwo collection resonates most with you, and why?

I have a piece that was custom made for an individual whose monogram is on the sleeve and then restyled by the two women who put their own mark on it - the Partwo label - which, again, is all a part of this garment's story and journey.
